Farmingdale State College invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Civil Engineering Technology Department beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidates will develop and deliver courses in Civil Engineering Technology and engage in research and service activities.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver courses, primarily at the undergraduate level, in multiple areas of Civil Engineering Technology, including mechanics, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, and/or transportation engineering

Teaching may also be required at the graduate level in related topics

Participation in student advisement, recruitment, leading student clubs and competitions, and other school and college activities

Engage with the region's private and public constituents and develop an externally funded research program

Demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching

Participation on committees

Contribute to the maintenance of specialized accreditation

PhD in Civil EngineeringScholarship in Civil EngineeringPE licenseCollege level teaching experienceCourse development experienceCommunication skills

Required

PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered, provided the doctorate is conferred by the time of appointment

Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarship in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
