Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
Epcon is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Instrumentation Inspector with extensive experience as a qualified Equipment/Instrumentation Technician. The role involves inspecting, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting various instrumentation and control systems in refining and midstream operations.

Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
Perform calibration, testing, and verification of measurement and control devices, including gauging systems
Inspect and verify proper installation and operation of PLCs, HMIs, and related control systems
Review electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and instrumentation documentation for accuracy
Identify deficiencies and non-conformances in instrumentation and control systems
Document inspection findings in detailed reports and recommend corrective actions
Verify that repairs and modifications meet required specifications
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel to resolve technical issues
Support commissioning and startup activities for new or modified systems
Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or related technical field
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Instrumentation Technician in refining, midstream, or similar industrial environments
Proven experience with gauging systems, flow measurement, and level detection technologies
Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and HMI systems
Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics
Experience with SCADA systems and distributed control systems
Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe installations
Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations (ISA, NFPA, API, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed inspection reports
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders
Proficiency with calibration equipment and testing devices
Knowledge of safety protocols in hazardous environments
Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems
Preferred
ISA CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician)
NETA (International Electrical Testing Association) certification
CompEx certification or equivalent
API certification relevant to instrumentation and measurement
