Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of healthcare projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure successful execution
Work collaboratively with project leaders, architects, design partners, peers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success metrics, and develop innovative and practical solutions, and meet the project's conditions of satisfaction
Lead cross-functional teams, facilitating communication and collaboration to achieve project milestones
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively
Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and best practices
Mentor junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes
Engage with external partners, including vendors and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance and integration of project design
Establish strong relationships with healthcare providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure design alignment with project objectives
Lead the electrical design for health and complex, critical non-health facility projects, including power distribution, lighting, backup power (generator/UPS systems), utility coordination, short circuit and coordination studies and coordination with other disciplines such as mechanical, technology and fire alarm
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project requirements are met
Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess project variables and develop reliable design solutions independently
Prepare detailed design documents, specifications, and reports
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Ensure compliance with healthcare design standards and regulations
Participate in/lead project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
Successfully manage projects and tasks of a scope, complexity, and revenue budget appropriate to experience
Provide oversight for Electrical Engineering staff
Actively contributes to the overall technical growth of the electrical team
Meets technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary, and client service objectives for each project
Apply strong electrical engineering skills, experience, and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design for building projects
Manages and plans the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for electrical engineering projects
Act as QC reviewer on projects
Effectively delegates work to production support staff
Nurtures existing client relationships and proactively pursues opportunities for new business
Develop project proposals and participate in project pursuits
Develop and deliver project-related client presentations
Proactively pursues additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending available in-house and external training
Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes within Electrical Engineering and AEC overall, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate it into existing processes and standards
Maintain and update Electrical Engineering specifications, technical documentation, and standards in collaboration with other technical leaders in Stantec
Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, and partner firms in the local and regional A/E industry
Develop presentation materials and present them to clients and at strategic industry events
Represent the firm through published articles, public speaking engagements, and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences

Required

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on healthcare projects
Proven project management skills and experience leading healthcare projects
Strong client service skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
Ability to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and facilitating communication
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and best practices
Ability to mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Experience in electrical design for healthcare and complex, critical non-health facility projects
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to prepare detailed design documents, specifications, and reports
Experience in managing projects and tasks of appropriate scope, complexity, and revenue budget
Ability to provide oversight for Electrical Engineering staff
Strong electrical engineering skills, experience, and knowledge in building projects
Experience in managing production resources and workflow for design documentation
Ability to act as QC reviewer on projects
Experience in developing project proposals and participating in project pursuits
Ability to develop and deliver project-related client presentations
Proactive pursuit of additional knowledge in related disciplines
