Warehouse Supervisor

Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials, while ensuring efficient coordination amongst the staff
Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and safety regulations to ensure the safety of all warehouse employees
Manage inventory (internal or external), which includes maintaining accurate records, conducting cycle counts, and resolving any discrepancies
Effectively plan and allocate resources to meet daily operational requirements, maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime
Train, mentor, and provide regular feedback to warehouse staff in order to cultivate their skills and expertise, enabling them to carry out their duties with utmost efficiency
Reviews, develops, and maintains Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions within the warehousing and logistics departments
Determine staffing levels and assign workload; measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance
Work together with other departments, such as Procurement, Production and Customer Service, to effectively manage and prioritize incoming and outgoing shipments
Consistently seek out opportunities for process improvement; implement changes to increase efficiency and decrease costs
Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with quality standards
Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages
Participate in contract negotiations • Review and manage logistics operations costs such as Inbound/Outbound Freight, Supplies, etc
Manage and resolve any warehouse-related issues or conflicts that may arise, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining positive employee relations
Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse operations, including productivity, inventory levels, and shipping/receiving accuracy, providing recommendations for improvement
Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas
Ensure work procedures and practices are current while looking to identify areas of improvement, adjustment, or implement innovative methods
Manage day to day functions of Inventory Control personnel and Shipping and Receiving personnel
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is strongly preferred
Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment
Experience with inventory control, inventory reconciliation and third-party logistics; including participating in contract review and rate negotiations, managing consigned (off-site) inventory and E&O review
Experience with contract review and supplier negotiations
Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and experience in implementing safety protocols
A self-starter who possesses intellectual curiosity, proven track record to deep dive, root cause, and drive business improvements
Advanced user of warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in using relevant software applications
Experience with the coordination and management of international shipments, licensing, and classification of goods
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, and obtain necessary certifications if required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
This position may be asked to drive for company purposes during the course of employment. If asked and agreed upon, employees must possess a valid California Driver's License and clean driving record
Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time
Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually
Physical agility to lift, carry, push, or pull objects

APICS/CPIM knowledge/certification preferred
