Mechanical Technician
Perstorp Group is an international chemical manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH, seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team. The role involves performing skilled mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment while ensuring safety and compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities
Perform skilled mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment and systems with minimal supervision, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with operational standards
Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on plant facilities and production equipment
Perform preventative maintenance (lubrication, filter change, inspections) and document maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic CMMS database
Recognize and report potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions; take initiative to improve conditions
Perform welding fabrication (MIG welders) and machine shop work (drill presses, mill, grinders, welders, plasma torches, etc.)
Perform pipe fitting (threaded and welded pipe), operate lifts and hoists, and maintain equipment, tools, and work areas
Ensure all work meets required codes (OSHA, City, Federal) and follows company policies and procedures
Train new mechanical technicians on plant-specific installations and infrastructure
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED required
3 to 5 years' experience in the chemical, industrial, or manufacturing industry in a similar role required

Preferred
Working towards associate degree in applied industrial science or mechanical field, or trade school diploma in a related field preferred
Journeyman certification preferred
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and professional digital communication
Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple/changing priorities
Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and use all channels of communication
Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (including weekends and holidays), be on-call, and work overtime as needed
