I&E Maintenance Technician, Cell Cathode Engineering
Tesla's Cell Cathode Engineering Team is seeking an Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Maintenance Technician for the CAM/pCAM Pilot facilities. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of manufacturing units.

Responsibilities
Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot process instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) to work on systems up to 480V
Demonstrated competency in motor control systems, including starters, contactors, overload protection, and VFDs
Configure and maintain smart instruments and field devices using HART protocol or simple multimeter verifications
Assist with the configuration and maintenance of DCS and PLC systems (e.g., Honeywell, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
Communicate with fellow maintenance technicians, chemical operators and engineering team members regarding safety, production, quality, and operational issues to support pilot operations
Qualification
Required
4+ years of I&E maintenance experience in a refinery or chemical processing facility
ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or equivalent educational background
Proficient with computers and use of digital management systems to schedule, write work orders, and communicate effectively
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Proficient in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment
Strong background in process instrumentation, industrial electrical systems, and control systems in a continuous or batch chemical production environment

Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50 pounds
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
Preferred
NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification
Familiarity with hazardous area classifications (Class I, Div I/II) and intrinsically safe systems
