Manager, Food & Beverage Procurement Budget

LA28 is the independent organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They are seeking a Manager for Food & Beverage Procurement Budget to oversee the procurement budget and ensure the delivery of food and beverage services during the Games, focusing on sustainability and cost-efficiency while managing complex financial processes.

Responsibilities

Develop a plan to identify procurement opportunities that meet our core sustainability standards and operational needs
Work cross-functionally to produce, develop and deliver F&B Procurement events
Produce operational and financial analysis reports for F&B Procurement events to support the evaluation of candidates
Coordinate the Logistics planning including scheduling transportation, warehousing, access and HAACP tracking across all venues with various Operations team leaders
Develop purchasing budgets for key areas of the business and work with team to maintain overall F&B budget
Manage the auxiliary budgets such as the Coca-Cola VIK budget, and ensure that all costs associated with those budgets are tracked and reported
Establish a regular cadence of revision for budget including variance analysis
Identify areas of opportunity for cost savings or potential risk
Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality or guest satisfaction
Establish close working relationships with key functional areas e.g. Procurement, Stakeholder Functional Areas, Finance, to ensure that accurate information is produced and shared on time and is integrated into ongoing analysis
Prepare and deliver ad hoc analysis projects
Develop clear steps to implement, monitor, and appropriately measure plan deliverables through financial metric and KPI tracking
Develop plan to ensure operational delivery of all partners and supplier commitments
Manage the purchasing and reconciliation process for any F&B direct purchased items
Develop methods to reconcile actual results in real-time

Required

Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience in catering and retail foodservice, preferably with purchasing experience in the live sport industry
Experience building and implementing tracking programs and reports focused on maintaining the highest standards of food quality and guest experience
Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships
Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget
Experience working with senior managers across multiple functional areas
Excellent leadership skills with track record of budget achievement
Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues
Must possess expert-level Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Self-starter with experience in defining tasks, seeking feedback, and evolving work where applicable
A collaborative mindset; someone who prioritizes the team and fosters a culture of high performance without ego
An innovative viewpoint, challenging the status quo and thinking ahead to future years of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement
Ability to implement and manage change effectively
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple workloads, priorities, and deadlines with efficiency
An undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or accounting or equivalent experience
