The Materials Engineer intern will assist in materials development programs, conducting wet chemistry and collaborating with chemical engineers to enhance reactor materials and support technology scale-up.

Responsibilities
Review academic literature and industry research on catalyst development and other related materials
Synthesize, characterize, and test novel ammonia-related materials on our in-house reactor test systems
Work with chemical engineers to develop experiments and review results of past experiments to determine material applicability
Present findings, make data-informed decisions on recipes and material compositions
Qualification
Required
Actively seeking a BS, MS, or PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in chemical/materials science research labs, in particular those with a focus on catalyst development and/or chemical process scale-up
A passion for sustainability and excitement for working in a start-up environment
Preferred
Experience with thermocatalytic systems
Experience with composite material synthesis and characterization techniques
Experience with various types material characterization, especially catalysts
Previous internship experience a materials science (or related) role
Experience in start-up environments
