Responsibilities

Develop intellectual property to deepen Aspire's competitive moat using predictive analytics, machine learning, and statistical inference
Create data-driven tools to amplify Aspire’s existing distribution, product, and claims expertise
Partner with finance to project and measure ROI for key activities and spend
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of predictive models and advanced analytics (e.g., pricing, underwriting, claims, broker analytics, fraud, customer retention)
Lead, mentor, and grow data scientists and data analysts. Must be a hands-on technical leader with a player-coach mindset
Ensure model transparency, interpretability, and compliance with regulatory standards
Act as a trusted advisor to leaders in underwriting, actuarial, product, claims, and sales/marketing
Translate business needs into actionable analytics solutions and drive adoption across the organization
Partner with IT and data engineering to improve data availability, quality, and governance
Define and monitor KPIs through dashboards and reports that measure business performance
Present analytical findings and recommendations to executive leadership
Identify and integrate external data sources, new technologies, and tools to enhance decision-making capabilities
Collaborate with outside vendors including managed service providers and software vendors
Stay current with industry trends and innovations in insurance analytics

Required

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science); master's degree or Ph.D. preferred
10+ years of experience in analytics, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Prior experience in the auto insurance industry is required
Demonstrated success leading analytics teams and delivering business impact
Strong understanding of regulatory considerations in insurance (e.g., rating compliance, model governance)
Expertise in predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis
Strong command of tools such as Python, R, SQL, and modern data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Deep knowledge of auto insurance data from both operational and analytical perspectives
Proven ability to communicate complex analytics to non-technical stakeholders
Exceptional project management and stakeholder engagement skills
High degree of business acumen and strategic thinking
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Solid understanding of Actuarial concepts, up to exam 5 concepts, is a plus
Ability to develop excellent working relationships with Staff, Clients, and Company Partners
Ability to communicate with others in an effective and friendly manner, one that is conducive to being a conscientious team member, fostering a spirit of goodwill, indicative of a professional environment and atmosphere
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information
Able to represent the Company in a professional manner and contribute to the Corporate Image
Able to consistently provide excellent client service

Preferred

Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks) is a plus
Solid understanding of Actuarial concepts, up to exam 5 concepts, is a plus
