Responsibilities
Act as primary back up for the Chief Engineer during short-term absences such as illness and vacation
Adhere to the preventative maintenance program. Operate machinery to approved specifications ensuring no downtime attributed to poor operations
Create, Edit and Approve MOPS (Method of Procedure)
Repair machinery as needed, may contact outside providers in the case of machine failure. Document maintenance and repairs in log book at the end of each shift
Order supplies and materials as approved by the Building Manager
Be proficient with CMMS Programs, Google Workspace & Microsoft Suite
Oversee the storage of supplies and materials received at location
Maintain inventory of tools and equipment annually. Ensure model and serial numbers are recorded with exact description of tools and equipment in-house
Coordinate and submit monthly reports to management regarding equipment including general preventative maintenance and repair work performed
Respond to tenant complaints and ensure all reasonable measures are taken to satisfy the tenant’s needs in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain and check service contractors’ work schedule. Ensure date, time, and repairs are made and properly recorded
Ensure that property staff has a complete understanding of the building life safety system. Assist in coordinating all Fire/Life Safety Programs for Management Services and facility personnel
Accountable for implementation of national policy
Assist in the development of the annual budget and the RFP process for budgeted projects
Develop business controls for operations and maintenance areas
Assist the Chief Engineer in the selection, training, development and evaluation of other maintenance staff members
May provide coverage at other sites on an as needed basis, per management’s request
May be on-call after regular business hours
May perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
Minimum of 9 years engineering experience
Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certified
Proficient computer and e-mail skills
Extensive knowledge of all building systems
Holds necessary/required licenses
Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties
Preferred
Minimum of 5 years Data Center Experience preferred
Blue Seal Refrigeration License preferred
