Responsibilities
Serve as the primary first contact for students who are sponsored by 3rd parties that make payments on their behalf
Work directly with the employer/sponsor to get tuition monies paid
Handle billing for miscellaneous groups as necessary
Qualification
Required
One year of direct collection experience (telephone or face-to-face) including knowledge of collection techniques. Collection experience must have been the primary responsibility, not incidental to other major duties
The person in this position must be able to exercise sound judgment determining eligibility for short term loans, courtesy write-off's, and working with third party payers
Must also communicate effectively with a multicultural University population
Attendance and punctuality are critical; model a positive attitude and a patient, courteous and helpful manner to students, coworkers, faculty, staff and the general public
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Outstanding customer service skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy
Skills and experience explaining complex and routine procedures and policies
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Successful completion of a background check
