Responsibilities
Create new designs, architectures, and standards for delivering software and network services faster, better, and more reliably
Improve scalability, latency, and efficiency of T-Mobile’s applications and network services
Contribute to cloud enablement, containerization, and microservices reliability
Manage improvement work, PoCs, and future automation projects
Diagnose and resolve complex issues in routers, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and global traffic managers(Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, A10, Infoblox, BIND, F5 GTM)
Proactively forecast and address capacity and performance bottlenecks to prevent outages
Provide network expertise on outage bridges, rapidly identifying root causes using developed KPIs and telemetry
Define standards and playbooks for fault prevention and outage handling
Build and operationalize telemetry pipelines with ServiceNow AIOps, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, SevOne, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL)
Develop AI/ML-driven models to detect anomalies and predict failures across network, infrastructure, cloud, DNS, and application layers
Create and maintain dashboards and health checks for real-time visibility into system and network reliability
Use Terraform and IaC to deploy and manage infrastructure and applications in AWS cloud
Integrate reliability practices into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
Define, measure, and optimize performance KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs across hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
Deep understanding of system parameters, configurations, and how to alter them for desired results
Proactively identifies system weaknesses, determines root cause, and finds solutions for improvement
Creating complex network and service architecture, design strategies and standards
Leads engineering projects and team members by active contribution to the application of engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations
Expected to supervise principal level engineers as needed
Engages with vendor(s) or industry fellows to innovate procedures and processes to validate and enhance and optimize network architecture
Able to diagnose and redesign based on changing business requirements and objectives
Creates, presents, designs, and implements new ideas which improve an existing and new system/process/service
Proposes new ideas and innovations to management that may have significant business impact
Writes advanced documentation, architecture, capabilities, limitations, and advantages for technologies
Produces advanced documentation and literature for multiple disciplines
Monitor and influence relevant industry technologies and standards
Qualification
Required
Master's/Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience considered
7–10 years in system, network, or reliability engineering roles
Deep expertise in network infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, F5, A10, Infoblox, BIND, DNS)
Hands-on experience with observability tools: Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, SevOne, Splunk, ServiceNow AIOps, OTEL
Proficiency with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and cloud deployments (AWS preferred)
Programming/scripting in Python, Go, or Shell
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and containerized environments
