Lab Technician I - GC/GCMS/LC/LCMS

McKinney Specialty Labs is an innovative scientific organization specializing in testing nicotine and other aerosolized products. They are seeking a Laboratory Technician I who will be responsible for preparing samples and reagents, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, and assisting with inventory management under the direction of the Group Leader.

Research

Responsibilities

Preparation of tobacco, cigar(ette), eliquid, or aerosol samples for analysis
Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
Cleaning of laboratory glassware
Maintaining clean laboratory areas
Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
Comfortable working with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products
Ability to remain flexible and handle changing priorities
Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to worth both as part of a team and independently
Comply with McKinney SL Quality Assurance Program and other policies
Comply with McKinney SL Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

Required

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
Preparation of tobacco, cigar(ette), eliquid, or aerosol samples for analysis
Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
Cleaning of laboratory glassware
Maintaining clean laboratory areas
Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
Comfortable working with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products
Ability to remain flexible and handle changing priorities
Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to work both as part of a team and independently

Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

Preferred

Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
Ability to work independently and in a team
Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturdays) and able to work overtime
