Realty Trust Group is seeking a creative Business Journalist to join the Teknovation team, focusing on producing engaging multimedia content that highlights entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development in East Tennessee. The journalist will collaborate with the Editor and Marketing team to expand Teknovation’s reach and influence through high-quality storytelling and a compelling newsletter.

Responsibilities

Report and produce multimedia content—including articles, short videos, photos, and social media posts—that advances Teknovation’s mission
Interview business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to generate feature stories for the Teknovation audience
Cover and attend regional business events, providing timely updates and adding events to Teknovation’s calendar
Design and distribute Teknovation’s 3x/week newsletter, ensuring content is informative, visually appealing, and aligned with PYA’s mission
Collaborate with the Editor and Marketing team to track audience growth and engagement metrics
Assist with social media strategy and content creation to amplify Teknovation’s presence
Ensure all content meets high editorial standards and reflects Teknovation’s brand voice

Qualification

Required

Minimum 3 years of experience in journalism, public relations, or marketing
Strong writing skills with knowledge of AP style and ability to meet tight deadlines

Passion for business, economic development, innovation, and technology

Preferred

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, Audition)
Existing community relationships
