Responsibilities
Working on problems in software, including but not limited to web development, systems programming, database administration, and cloud infrastructure
Design and implementation of features that immediately impact the daily workflows of hundreds of scientists
Working directly with end users to rapidly fix issues and continuously refine the product
Qualification
Required
Interest in computer systems and their inner workings e.g. compilers, operating systems, databases, distributed systems, programming language theory
Desire to do 'the right thing' in all situations—write good code, make people happy, ship just-right: not too soon, not too late
Ability to see and pursue art and craft in software engineering
Preference for inter-personal connection at work over a strictly regimented process
Flexibility in methods and area of work
Experience with TypeScript, Python, React, Postgres, Docker, Linux, Kubernetes
Ability to work in a team of engineers on problems in software, including but not limited to web development, systems programming, database administration, and cloud infrastructure
