Fuel Reliability Principal Team Lead

Responsibilities
Facilitating industry meetings, including large webcasts and in-person meetings, and presenting at utility and member meetings. This requires strong presentation skills and stakeholder focus, coupled with the ability to identify problems and develop solution strategies
Working with utilities, industry groups (NEI, INPO) and government agencies (DOE, National Laboratories, regulators, and international research organizations) facilitating collaboration and understanding research needs
Managing highly technical staff
Understanding industry events and current challenges (e.g., fuel cladding integrity during operation, anticipated operational occurrences (AOOs), design basis accidents (DBAs), etc.)
Leadership in technical business development of problem-solving projects from proposal through execution and technology transfer
US and non-US travel to support above tasks and technology transfer with utilities
Qualification
Required
Strong technical and project management skills on commercial light water reactor (LWR) fuel
Knowledge of advanced fuels concepts such as coated cladding, doped fuel, and increased burnup and enrichment limits for existing LWRs (ATF/HBU/HE)
Strong presentation skills and stakeholder focus
Ability to identify problems and develop solution strategies
Experience working with utilities, industry groups (NEI, INPO) and government agencies (DOE, National Laboratories, regulators, and international research organizations)
Experience managing highly technical staff
Understanding of industry events and current challenges (e.g., fuel cladding integrity during operation, anticipated operational occurrences (AOOs), design basis accidents (DBAs), etc.)
Leadership in technical business development of problem-solving projects from proposal through execution and technology transfer

Strong technical background, demonstrated with experience and activities related to nuclear fuel operation, reliability and performance
Understanding of current fuel operation technical issues and regulatory challenges
Familiarity with accident tolerant fuel concepts and technical issues related to high burnup, power uprates, and cycle length extension
Strong communication and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
People management experience and strong interpersonal skills
10 - 15 or more years of research and development project and promotional experience demonstrating advanced skills in research, project management and technology transfer
Experience in performing and/or managing research activities
Experience in successful project management of proposal preparation, and marketing activities
Responsible for project(s) planning, budget, deliverables, and project success
Creates scope, develops and manages one or more complex projects including promoting concepts with members
Experience in presenting project results to members and advisors
Demonstrated skill working in the collaborative environment with members and other stakeholders
Shows maturity of technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives
Exercises good judgment, diligence, and attention to detail and demonstrate an aptitude for carrying out responsible technical assignments
Proven people management experience
Requires little supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required
