UPW (Ultra Pure Water) Engineer

Responsibilities
Owning and maintaining the entire UPW system, including monitoring performance, analyzing trends, and ensuring safe operation
Planning and implementing engineering projects such as upgrades, retrofits, and expansions for UPW and wastewater treatment systems
Responding to system interruptions, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and applying problem-solving methods
Researching, developing, and implementing technology upgrades to improve water quality, reliability, and safety
Ensuring the water meets specific quality parameters, which can include monitoring for contaminants like dissolved minerals, salts, organic compounds, and microorganisms
Tracking system capacity, planning for future needs, and identifying cost reduction opportunities
Qualification
Required
A degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Significant experience with ultrapure water systems in design, construction, commissioning, and/or operations, often with a focus on industrial or high-tech facilities
Strong knowledge of process technology, safety protocols, and relevant software like AutoCAD
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for interacting with various teams and management
Experience in facilities engineering, project management, and troubleshooting is often required
