Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
Sustaining Engineering (30%): Support Purchasing, Production, and Service help resolve issues on existing equipment. Work closely with Engineers and other departments to improve efficiencies and reduce costs
Value Optimization (20%): Analyze and optimize specifications for mechanical and electromechanical components (e.g., pumps, motors, electrical systems) to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to validate alternative parts or methods that reduce total cost of production, support, and service
Mechanical Design (20%): Lead redesign efforts for parts, assemblies, and sheet metal components with a strong emphasis on minimizing material usage and simplifying production processes. Drive design decisions from concept through prototyping and launch to achieve measurable cost reductions on the current product line
Production Support (20%): Directly support manufacturing, ensuring that parts and assemblies are produced according to specifications and standards procedures. Identify opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency, executing on any design or engineering changes. Resolve manufacturing issues as they arise across production processes
Documentation (10%): Assist in documenting engineering changes, CAD models, BOMs, and cost improvements
Multi-Project Management: Contribute to multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing initiatives that deliver high ROI
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Advanced proficiency in solid modeling techniques and programs (Solid Edge preferred)
Proven experience in mechanical design of sheet metal parts and assemblies
Extensive knowledge of common techniques including DFM/DFA, PFMEA, and value engineering
Strong mathematical skills and ability to work with technical instructions, diagrams, and equations
Dedication to thorough tracking of design files, solid models, cost BOMs, and change histories
Ability to write detailed technical production documentation including Work Instructions and SOPs
Occasional travel (0-10%) to local suppliers and manufacturers if needed
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
