Engineering Associates, LLC is seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer for the Honolulu, HI area to join their team and help connect America. The OSP Engineer is responsible for the design, pricing, and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities, involving all aspects of OSP Engineering such as pole replacement and new service order build outs.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for work order packet creation which includes field notes, drafting in NDS and creating construction prints

Work with municipalities to acquire permits, ROW, etc

Develop plans for new plant construction and/or upgrading existing construction plant

Monitor the project(s) during early and late stages of design and construction

Ensure the most cost-effective solution is being utilized

Monitor and control project expenditures

Be the face of the customer and have positive interactions with internal and external customers

Required

Spectrum / Hawaiian Tel / Lumen experience is a plus

NDS, WFMT, MARTENS, GLM, ARMOR, TIRKS experience is a plus

1-2 years design experience in the telecom industry with a high focus on fiber technology

Working knowledge of CAD applications

Proficiency in Microsoft and G suite platforms

Be self-motivated and energetic

Outside plant knowledge (fiber and copper build, FTTx, pole line construction)

A technical background

Able to read and interpret DOT plans, be able to identify any conflicts with the existing facilities and find resolution in the most cost-effective way

Willing to travel within the customers territory
