Responsibilities
Provide complex and diverse financial assistance on post-award sponsored research activities
Perform financial management of fund and research accounts for faculty
Monitor account activity and expenditures for compliance with sponsor guidelines and approved budgets
Reconcile account statements and salary expense reports in accordance with the financial review and control process
Prepare monthly projections
Approve requests for payment, travel expense reports, and other accounting forms
Review and approve invoices
Process requisitions and review purchase order commitments
Assist with preparing current and pending support
Conduct monthly review of closing report
Process account closeouts, including compliance audits
Oversee and maintain all financial documentation and electronic files
Serve as a resource for lab members regarding MIT-related issues
Perform other duties as directed
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
a minimum of three years of related financial, accounting, and grants management experience
self-motivation

strong organizational skills
strong time management skills
proficiency with Excel and Word
discretion with sensitive/confidential information
