The SANE Coordinator provides oversight of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program, ensuring compliance with medical facility guidelines and regulatory requirements while coordinating training for the medical team and advocates.

Responsibilities

Recruits, coordinates training, and ensures the Sexual Assault Medical Team and Sexual Assault Advocates meet obligations of their roles while practicing within all federal and state regulatory requirements and accrediting bodies

Conducts medical forensic exams for survivors of domestic and sexual violence

Ensures Sexual Assault Team member competencies are met; provides formal feedback at regular intervals

Serves as primary point of contact for Sexual Assault Medical Director; coordinates with the Executive Director to implement the Medical Director’s direction and vision in regards to medical aspects of the program

Develops and implements procedures and protocols for best practice and compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies
