Responsibilities
Serve as subject matter expert on industrial hygiene topics
Using occupational hygiene concepts and best practices, evaluate and implement appropriate control measures for physical, chemical, radiation, noise, and other hazards
Understand and maintain a thorough knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, and EPA regulations
Review and author safety data sheets (SDS) to develop worker protection plans
Develops, updates and conduct training for employees, such as new hire training
Support safety efforts through completion of job safety analyses (JSA), building inspection, and other safety duties as required
Support environmental programs and initiatives through efforts such as water sampling
Interact with regulators (EPA, MDE, etc.) as needed
Qualification
Required
Diploma plus 9 years of experience. Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience are preferred
Four years of experience with at least two years in a manufacturing environment or support role preferably in a technical operation, manufacturing, or engineering capacity. Or equivalent experience in a scientific/analytical setting
Must have strong multitasking and problem solving abilities. Well-organized, efficient time management skills, works effectively with little to no supervision, maintains attention to detail and deals effectively with ambiguity. Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal). Must be able to prepare and deliver briefings of technical information, with clarity, to all levels of management and customer personnel
Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Diploma plus 13 years of experience. Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of experience or a Masters degree and 7 years of experience are preferred
CIH Certification or actively pursuing CIH credentials
Four years of experience with at least two years in a manufacturing environment or support role preferably in a technical operation, manufacturing, or engineering capacity. Or equivalent experience in a scientific/analytical setting

Background knowledge in chemical, pharmaceutical or energetic operations
Possess an active Secret clearance
