Responsibilities
Engage stakeholders to lead technical discovery, whiteboarding, architecture, and data strategy sessions
Assist with building data-roadmaps for Data Governance, DataOps, Data Security, and Master Data Management
Architect modern data solutions leveraging: AzureSQL, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure HDinsight, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Amazon Web Services and Snowflake Data Warehouse
Leverage Power BI to produce interactive business analytics reports and guide clients to critical insights
Perform hands-on dimensional data modeling and architect cubes/tabular models
Architect and deliver data integration with a Azure Data Factory & write API calls with Logic Apps
Traditional SQL Server architecture & development (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL)
Understanding of multiple Big Data/Database environments (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Hadoop, Cloudera, Teradata, Oracle Exadata, etc.)
Deliver agile data transformation against project milestones leveraging our Data Success Framework
Perform business requirement gathering, gap-analysis and uncover key metrics/KPI
Define advanced analytics & data science business-case with Azure Machine Learning
Passionate about solving problems with data. Interest in being community evangelist, able to attend user groups, write blogs and present at data conferences
Assist with pre-sales efforts, client presentations, strategy sessions, and developing proposals/contracts
Qualification
Required
7 years of experience engaging business and technology stakeholders, leading architecture sessions, scoping data projects and preparing technical proposals
3 years of experience architecting and delivering data analytics solutions on the Microsoft Data Platform (Power BI, SQL Server, Azure Data Services)
Experience in solution architecture, managing client expectations, owning deliverables, and timelines
Must be a resourceful self-starter, problem-solver, ambitious-learner with ability to thrive in high pressure environments
Consultant must be based in Minnesota and be able to travel occasionally on-site to clients
This is an hourly independent consultant (corp-corp) role and is not full-time employment
