Responsibilities
Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize databases supporting JOPES and TransViz mission systems
Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and backups/restores to ensure high system availability and data resiliency
Develop and manage database security policies, ensuring compliance with DoD, USTRANSCOM, and site-specific requirements
Conduct performance monitoring and tuning to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues
Implement and maintain disaster recovery solutions and contingency procedures to support continuity of operations
Utilize Structured Query Language (SQL) for database querying, data extraction, reporting, and system integration
Support integration, migration, and management of databases within Air Force Cloud One and other DoD-compliant cloud hosting environments
Maintain rigorous documentation of database schemas, procedures, security roles, maintenance schedules, and SOPs
Collaborate with the Application Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, Program Manager, and government stakeholders on cross-functional technical issues and enhancements
Ensure the completion and documentation of all annual and recurring DoD-mandated security training
Provide technical support and user assistance as required for database-related inquiries and incidents
Participate in stakeholder meetings, briefings, audits, and technical evaluations as tasked
Develop Power BI visualization to present metrics to government officials to view the status of the operations at USTRANSCOM
Speak to government officials on the status and progress of USTRANSCOM to high ranking government officials
Qualification
Required
Technical subject matter expertise in database management, security, and optimization
Experience with database administration activities ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance
Knowledge of DoD and USTRANSCOM requirements
Experience with routine database operation tasks, performance tuning, security administration, backup/recovery, troubleshooting
Experience with integration of databases in cloud environments, including Air Force Cloud One
Ability to collaborate with technical teams, government staff, and end-users in a security-sensitive environment
Experience administering, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing databases
Experience with database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and backups/restores
Ability to develop and manage database security policies
Experience conducting performance monitoring and tuning
Experience implementing and maintaining disaster recovery solutions
