Senior LevelCanva is a design platform that is expanding its operations in LATAM and is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build and execute the data strategy for the region. The role involves designing dashboards, defining success metrics, collaborating with local teams, and turning data insights into actionable narratives to drive growth.

Responsibilities
Build the Data Foundation for LATAM
Own LATAM Data Strategy End-to-End
Partner with Local, Regional, and Central Teams
Tell the Story Behind the Numbers
Identify Problems Before They’re Obvious
Support Product & Experimentation Initiatives
Qualification
Required
You have strong SQL and data wrangling skills; able to work independently with large, messy datasets and exposure to experimentation and A/B testing frameworks
You are familiar with Canva's data stack (Looker, Snowflake, Mode, Netspring)
You have proven experience building dashboards and tracking frameworks from the ground up
You can showcase the ability to define and track key metrics across the user journey (e.g., signups, MAU, retention, monetization)
You have prior experience partnering with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, growth, ops), and using data to influence decisions
You bring strong communication and storytelling skills—you make data land, not just show up
You have hands-on experience using AI in your work to drive greater impact
You are a strategic thinker who can zoom out and prioritize what really moves the needle and you're comfortable in ambiguity and take ownership without waiting for a brief
You have experience working in, or analyzing LATAM markets or other global markets
You bring an understanding of mobile analytics and behavioral funnels and are experienced in supporting product teams or market localization initiatives
Preferred
You ideally have working proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese to help us better support our local community
