Weber Gallagher is a thriving and growing firm with more than 130 legal professionals in 13 locations. They are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to assist attorneys in managing a high-volume caseload of workers’ compensation cases from inception to resolution.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in managing a high-volume caseload of workers’ compensation cases from inception to resolution

Obtain medical records (via subpoenas), draft medical chronologies, and work with experts

Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, medical summaries, etc

File legal documents with state workers’ compensation boards or courts in accordance with local rules

Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all records are up to date and properly stored

Review and summarize medical records, and other case documentation

Provide litigation support, as needed

Will be responsible for meeting a daily time billing requirement

Required

2+ years of Paralegal experience, preferably in workers' compensation

Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization preferred

Should have prior experience with time entries and billing experience to meet a daily billable hour requirement

Familiarity with workers' compensation concepts, terminology, and procedures

Excellent attention to detail and organization skills

Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload

Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc

Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus

Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records, including follow up, following deadlines, organization of medical records, preparing medical index, and discovery production process

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required

Ability to work well independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting
