Ascendo Resources is a mission-driven NYC nonprofit seeking a sharp, detail-oriented finance professional to join its leadership team. This role is critical in ensuring strong financial compliance and operational excellence, reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Operations.

Responsibilities

Perform monthly analysis of Trial Balance accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal procedures

Oversee monthly close and prepare all necessary journal entries

Prepare adjusting entries and monthly government contract reclasses in the accounting system

Review and adjust monthly allocations, including overhead, salaries, and benefits

Review salary allocations to ensure proper and timely invoicing

Supervise and support Grants Manager and Accountant

Assist with annual operating budget preparation and enter departmental budgets into the accounting system

Issue monthly program budget vs. actual reports and provide ongoing analysis
