Emergency Care Technician III- Emergency Services (Bixler)

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. The Emergency Care Technician III will assist in delivering patient care, coordinate with other departments, and maintain the Emergency Department while providing basic life support and emergency care.

Responsibilities

Assists nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners in delivering patient care safely
Assists in coordinating patient care with other departments
Assists in maintaining a well-stocked (with no expired supplies/equipment) and clean Emergency Department (ED)
Provides basic life support, emergency care, and transportation to the sick and/or injured (as needed)

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)Basic Life Support (BLS)Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) AwarenessHigh school diploma

Required

High school diploma (or equivalent)
Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) completion (16-hours)
Licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXIX (Public Health), Chapter 401 (Medical Telecommunications and Transportation), Part III (Medical Transportation Services)
Passed monitor examination within six (6) months post-hire
Florida Class “E” driver license
Required to be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and with a minimum of two (2) years of licensed driving experience
Required to provide a seven (7)- year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) prior to employment
Will have received no more than two (2) minor violations in the past three (3) years and zero (0) major violations in the past five (5) years
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Awareness certification
Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) completion (16-hours) certification
Meets all current, applicable requirements in Florida Statutes, Title XXIX, Chapter 401, Part III and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64J-1 (Emergency Medical Services)
All certificates and licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment

Preferred

Six (6) months of Emergency Care Technician I (JC: 770105) or Emergency Care Technician II (JC: 770205) experience (or equivalent) in an ED setting
