Business Development Intern - Wealth Management - Summer 2026

Responsibilities

Learn how to explain the firm’s mission, investment philosophy, and client experience to potential clients
Assist team members with identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective clients
Help create presentation materials, proposals, and follow-up communications
Participate in meetings, training sessions, and strategy discussions to understand the client acquisition process
Conduct market or demographic research to uncover new business opportunities
Observe experienced professionals to learn best practices in consultative, ethical selling
Learn and work in Mariner’s CRM system to track outreach and client interactions
Work with marketing and client service teams to ensure smooth communication and a consistent client experience
Always maintain the highest standards of professionalism and client confidentiality

Required

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship (~Dec. 2026 or ~May 2027 grads)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship needs
Available full-time during Summer 2026 (~10 weeks)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic understanding of investments and portfolio performance
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and teamwork
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred

Majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Economics, or a related field
Prior internship or coursework in finance, investment management, or analytics is a plus
