They are seeking a highly motivated Planning & Land Management Legislation Intern to assist with the review and tracking of bills during the Maryland General Assembly’s legislative session, while identifying potential impacts on departmental functions.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily review of bills introduced during the Maryland General Assembly legislative session to identify bills that are relevant to or may impact functions of the Planning & Land Management (PLM) Department

Enter information from relevant bills in tracking table

Research potential fiscal, operational, and other relevant impacts of proposed bills related to PLM functions

Assist in coordination with relevant PLM managers and staff to request review and comments on proposed bills

Coordinate with Special Projects Coordinator for direction on potential actions to take related to proposed bills

Assist with tracking and monitoring progress of proposed bills and any amendments to those bills

Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback
