Hi-Tek Manufacturing is searching for an experienced Wire EDM Operator / Programmer who wishes to continue to develop his or her career in advanced manufacturing technology by executing a higher level of workmanship. The role involves operating Wire EDM machines, programming, and ensuring the quality of machined parts.

Responsibilities

Operate all Wire EDM / WEDM machines in the shop
Operate CAD and CAM software
Create 2 & 4 axis programs using appropriate software
Fixture work piece as necessary to facilitate machining
Maintain a necessary inventory of perishables, such as guides wire, filters, etc
Load/unload parts
Inspect parts using various precision measuring tools
Accept or reject parts
Communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing
Select, align, and secure fixtures, wire, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
Load and edit CNC programs as required
Utilize knowledge of rotary/linear axes and using G and M codes
Programming/operating/maintaining Wire EDM utilizing knowledge of working properties and processes for a variety of materials
Develop/Implement process recommendations for improved efficiency to optimize the programs and processes resulting in defect free parts
Verify conformance of finished workpieces to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment, as necessary
Document actions by updating control charts, travelers, and ERP labor reporting
Clean the work tank, table, and wire path pulleys daily
Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including proper PPE
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties

Required

High school diploma or GED required
Wire EDM experience required- minimum of 3 years
Understanding the different wire types, sizes, operating parameters for best machine optimization
Proficient knowledge and ability to perform manual G code programming edits to improve the process
Solid grasp on high school level mathematics necessary
Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person
Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
The ability to work efficiently with others or independently as required
Integrity and conscientiousness in all work-related matters
Safety conscious always
Reliable attendance within acceptable standards of attendance policy
Complex problem solving with critical math skills
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English
Must be able to clearly communicate information to others verbally and in writing in English
Lift, push and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly
Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift
Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, and grasping
Frequently use gross and fine motor skills to manage various parts, tools, and tooling
20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required

Preferred

Tool and Die Blueprint reading experience preferred
Experience with Mitsubishi controls preferred
Experience with Esprit Cam and or Siemens, NX software – Minimum 3 years required
Experience in the aerospace industry preferred
