Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact on electrical safety and administer the LANL Electrical Safety Program
Act as a resource for LANL employees and managers regarding electrical safety concerns
Conduct incident investigations and determine root causes, developing corrective actions as necessary
Perform workplace condition inspections to identify electrical hazards in various environments
Lead reviews of Integrated Work Documents (IWD) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Contribute to the development of codes, standards, and specifications for electrical equipment safety
Provide advanced support to engineers/scientists in solving complex technical problems
Participate in the evaluation of controlled items and services for compliance with electrical safety requirements
Perform calculations to determine electrical severity scores for incidents
Develop written electrical safety policies, procedures, and design standards

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of field experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards including NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA, particularly NFPA 70E
Must have PRIOR experience in a DOE CAT II Nuclear Facility
Experience with electrical engineering/technology in various applications such as low voltage AC and DC systems
Significant experience with personal computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office
Prior experience conducting incident investigations and determine root causes, be able to develop corrective actions when necessary
Demonstrated expert communication and organizational skills for presenting complex technical information
Ability to pass Radiological Worker II training
