Responsibilities
Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures
Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions
Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design
Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
Support waste management efforts, aiding in waste segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal
Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment
Support others by carrying out a range of project coordination activities
Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets
Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
Opportunity to respond to environmental emergencies/emergency response to perform field tasks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering
0-2 years of experience in related field
Preferred
OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
Engineering in Training certification is a plus
Willingness to respond to call outs during non-routine working hours
Willingness to travel, including overnights, to project sites in the Midwest. Travel is expected up to 50% of the time
