Responsibilities
Perform routine to moderately complex inspections of Parish properties for compliance with applicable environmental health laws and regulations
Inspect Parish food establishments and institutions to ensure compliance with Louisiana Sanitary Code
Conduct site inspections in response to Parish permit applications relative to suitability for intended purposes
Prepare sewer applications stipulating the type and size of wastewater treatment plant for residential and/or commercial installation
Investigate and attempt to resolve citizen complaints
Follow up and conduct final inspections of treatment plant installation to ensure compliance
Qualification
Required
Requires a bachelor's degree in the physical or biological sciences with three to six months of experience in environmental health; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office and Outlook
Satisfactory physical condition, including back, vision and hearing
Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License with satisfactory records
Must be honest and exhibit good moral/ethical behavior
