Responsibilities
Own the strategic vision for product architecture and technical roadmap, while also being hands-on in building and coding. Deliver a scalable, high-performance SaaS platform
Partner with product and data science leaders to align architecture with business and customer needs
Own performance testing, load testing, and optimization of high-throughput distributed systems
Implement best-in-class engineering practices while keeping processes lightweight and startup-friendly
Guide, mentor, and scale a small but growing engineering team (currently includes FTE and contractors)
Evaluate and implement AI and developer tools that increase velocity and quality across engineering
Represent engineering with prospects and customers, ensuring technical credibility and clarity
Qualification
Required
Highly technical, hands-on leader who is still close to the code
Experience building and scaling a strong engineering team
Ability to communicate vision clearly across the company
Experience in delivering a scalable, high-performance SaaS platform
Experience partnering with product and data science leaders
Experience in performance testing, load testing, and optimization of high-throughput distributed systems
Implementing best-in-class engineering practices
Experience guiding, mentoring, and scaling an engineering team
Experience evaluating and implementing AI and developer tools
Ability to represent engineering with prospects and customers
Strong leader with hands-on technical depth and architectural vision
Startup experience and ability to thrive in ambiguity
Fluency in Python and experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and SQL (Postgres/Redshift)
Experience designing, testing, and optimizing distributed systems
Ability to translate big ideas into clear technical direction
Preferred
Experience in FinTech or high-scale, real-time SaaS products
