Summer 2026 - Systems Engineering Internship
CesiumAstro is a pioneer in developing communication systems for space and airborne platforms. As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will support the design and verification of space systems while collaborating with various engineering teams on tasks such as requirements development and integration planning.

Responsibilities
Support the design and verification of real-world space systems
Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, software, RF, and test teams
Tasks may include requirements development, interface definition, system-level analysis, trade studies, integration planning, and test execution
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), or PhD program in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Software), Physics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university
Targeting rising juniors or seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
Practical experience working with space systems through coursework, internships, clubs, or research
Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
Strong sense of urgency and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Team player who works well with cross-functional groups and adapts quickly to changing priorities
Preferred
Experience with systems engineering tools and methodologies, such as requirements flow-down, interface control, system budgets, or validation planning
Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, SysML) is a plus
Participation in student design teams, such as CubeSat, rocketry, or aerospace competitions
Exposure to hardware/software integration or system-level testing
Aerospace or defense industry experience is a bonus
