This role is focused on driving profitable growth by underwriting new and renewal business while building relationships with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

Drive profitable growth in Financial Lines by working on creative solutions for complex risks

Underwriting a range of new and renewal business

Work closely with brokers to communicate risk appetite and our value proposition

Understand the deal structures, terms and products that best meets clients’ needs

Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients

Generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market

Collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines to target desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities

Set a high standard of customer service to brokers and clients

Provide guidance, mentoring and training to less-experienced underwriters

Support less-experienced underwriters in building their broker network

Required

4+ years of proven underwriting experience, with strong knowledge of the US Financial Lines business (primarily E&O and Cyber) including product features, forms, regulatory environment and risks etc

The ability to analyze financial statements

Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills

Good organizational and time management skills

Customer and Sales orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable

An interest in mentoring and training if you have not held these duties previously
