Project Assistant– Water Resilience
Syracuse University Institute for Sustainability Engagement (ISE) is seeking a temporary project assistant to support program outreach and event delivery for water and sustainability programming. The role involves coordinating outreach, developing web content, and managing social media strategies across various projects.

Responsibilities
Provide logistical support during online trainings and events, including leading and acting as technical host for large virtual gatherings and webinars
Coordinate and facilitate meetings between speakers, project partners, and teammates
Create and monitor event registration
Correspond with registrants and attendees before and after training events
Develop and distribute certificates of attendance
Assist in coordinating, attending, and exhibiting at industry and community events, conferences, and trade shows
Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote products, services, and events
Assist in creating marketing collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and presentations
Help increase visibility and attendance for events and trainings through targeted outreach efforts
Monitor and maintain email subscriber lists and contact forms
Provide copy-editing support for email and print marketing materials
Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Collaborate with staff on educational content development in web, digital, and print formats
Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and inquiries, and manage online communities
Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations
Attend bi-weekly communications meetings
Input event details and participant information into established project management platforms, keeping program-related files organized and up-to-date
Working with ISE managers and associates, support grant reporting efforts by organizing program attendance, engagement, and evaluation metrics, including event feedback and evaluation data
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, environmental studies, marketing, or a related field
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging content for various communication channels
Knowledge of digital marketing principles and best practices
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels in a timely and professional manner
Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all communications and deliverables
Applies critical thinking to diagnose problems and develop effective solutions
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure
Preferred
Experience with water infrastructure topics, including policy, state and federal programs, and understanding of water sector stakeholders is a plus
Previous experience in a communications role, program coordination role, or events related role a plus
