Responsibilities
Lead development of new hardware features and subsystems
Define system-level requirements and contribute to specifications and interface definitions
Apply electron optics expertise to optimize system performance
Develop and execute test plans for system characterization
Design and run experiments; write scripts for data collection and analysis
Troubleshoot complex system issues across software, electronics, mechanics, and optics
Use structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 7-Step) to resolve issues
Collaborate with manufacturing and service teams to implement solutions
Mentor junior engineers and align teams toward program goals
Present technical findings to leadership and global stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Strong background in Systems Engineering
Expertise in Electron Optics
Hands-on experience developing and testing hardware systems
Strong analytical and scripting skills for data analysis
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Self-driven with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
Preferred
Experience with Ultra-High Vacuum systems
