Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an intern to join their community planning team in Rochester, NY. The role involves assisting with report research, providing mapping support, and working alongside professionals on various planning projects.

Responsibilities

Assist with report research, writing, and setup

Provide mapping, visualization, and document design support

Maintain records, collections and files related to specific projects

Work alongside transportation, environmental planning, and urban design professionals for a wide range of projects in New York and Connecticut

Assist with projects related to Brownfield Redevelopment, Transportation Planning, Master Planning, Urban Development, Land Use, and Resiliency Planning

Support public outreach initiatives, including preparing meeting materials, meeting attendance and note taking, and preparation of public facing communications

Occasional travel to sites throughout Upstate New York may be required

Qualification

ArcGISMicrosoft SuiteAdobe Creative SuiteProblem-solvingWriting skillsVerbal communication

Required

Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Community, Regional or Urban Planning or a related field from an accredited university

Basic ArcGIS and Microsoft Suite skills required

Possess solid problem-solving skills

Must be able to work in a high-paced environment

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required

A valid driver's license and good driving record required

Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign) skills preferred

Previous internship experience a plus
