Hardware Reliability Intern [Winter 2026]
Figure AI is an AI robotics company focused on developing autonomous humanoid robots. They are seeking a Reliability Test Engineering Intern to contribute to the development and testing of humanoid hardware systems, ensuring products meet reliability targets.

Responsibilities
Design and build custom test stations to perform functional, performance, and reliability testing on key robotic sub-assemblies
Develop mechanical systems incorporating diverse actuation mechanisms, including motors, ballscrews, gearboxes, and feedback devices like torque cells and encoders
Facilitate the electromechanical integration of sensors, motors, and controllers, ensuring proper functionality and communication within the system
Generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and documentation, applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on hands-on testing, data analysis, and iterative design improvements
Contribute to the root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software integration issues across mechanical, electrical, and control domains
Qualification
Required
Portfolio or website showcasing relevant projects and your role
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field, with at least two years completed by the start of the internship
Proficiency in 3D CAD software for designing complex parts and assemblies
Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, and testing mechanical or electromechanical prototypes
Strong mechanical aptitude and a proven ability to take hardware projects from concept to reality
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
