RESEARCH ENGINEER II
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Research Engineer II for their Engineering and Innovative Technology Development group. The role involves developing embedded electrical systems for space applications, assisting in design and prototyping, and collaborating with other engineers to create high-reliability integrated systems.

Assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems
Support meetings, teleconferences, and travel as required by projects
Reports to EITD Electrical Engineering Section Lead
Performs simple and routine engineering design tasks with standard techniques
Assists more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods and reports
Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering related field
Four (4) years of related experience required
Ability to use various engineering and documentation/analysis software, MS Word, and Excel
Ability to problem-solve
Ability to work independently

Technical Communication skills (verbal & written)

Process improvement and quality skills
Ability to train others
Electrical/Electronics Design experience using CAE software
Preferred
Electrical Engineering experience for embedded / integrated systems

Electrical Engineering experience for aerospace applications
SPICE Modeling and Analysis for embedded systems design
Microcontroller Programming/Prototyping Experience
