Component Test Engineer - Rail Traction Components
Siemens is a leading provider of infrastructure, electrification, and transportation solutions in the United States. The Test Engineer will be responsible for introducing and producing rail components, working with teams to localize test setups, provide technical guidance, and streamline testing processes.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all test infrastructure
Troubleshooting equipment malfunction
Defining and implementing equipment maintenance
Test infrastructure improvement plans
Responsible for New Product Introduction
Review Test Requirements and ensure local infrastructure is adequate
Build / edit test procedures
Implement test programs in LabVIEW
Confirm accurate tester proficiencies to test new products. If required, facilitates vital training
Provides feedback for the creation and maintenance of test APIs
Attend Internal and Customer FAIs to support any questions regarding test infrastructure
Continuous Improvement
Work with Manufacturing Engineering to define opportunities for reducing routed hours, increasing ergonomics, improving tester safety, and favorably impacting our sustainability efforts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Minimum of five years related work experience
National Instruments LabVIEW experience
Some travel anticipated
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Effective interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
Experience writing and editing requirement documents, test plans, and work instructions
Preferred
Experience with PLC programming
Knowledge of the locomotive and rail market in the United States or an eagerness to learn if this background does not exist
Experience in project engineering
Experience working on international teams or in an international environment
