Universal Member Service Representative

Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a Universal Member Service Representative to serve as a liaison between the membership and the credit union. The role involves providing member service, handling inquiries, opening accounts, and processing various transactions while maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions
Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and review ATM IP-Hub checks for proper processing
Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals and deposits accurately. Pay out cash making sure proper verification is completed and signatures are verified
Promote, explain, and cross-sell marketing promotions and credit union products services such as, certificate of deposit/rates, ATM/debit, reloadable and gift cards and online banking/mobile banking products
Maintain a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and trends in the credit union industry, with attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Robbery procedures
Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift; research and resolve any discrepancies by following procedures/policy
Set up New Consumer and Business Accounts and provide members with all necessary information for membership. Service existing accounts; identify and promote products and services that would best meet their financial needs
Process all types of consumer loans, e.g., personal, auto, overdraft, business and secured loans
Provide basic mortgage information to members and submit mortgage applications through the Greater Alliance web site
Process Stop Payments, wire transfers etc
Have the availability to:
• Assist other branches
• Assist with opening/closing of the branches
• Assist with Home Equity closings
• Training buddy for new hires
Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints, resolving issues, and/or directing them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance. May handle more complex questions and problems for other Member Service Representatives
Up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations
Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds to members when necessary
Other duties as assigned

Required

Six months to two years of similar or related experience
High school education or GED
