The role involves conducting laboratory tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt, maintaining documentation, and communicating with project managers and engineering technicians regarding project requirements and test results.

Responsibilities
Perform Laboratory tests on soils, concrete, construction materials, and asphalt to conform with Caltrans, ASTM, AASHTO test methods, and State procedures
Effectively communicate test results to office and field personnel as well as client contacts
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Provide detailed reports and data from test results
Ensure all samples are accurately logged
Provide laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration
Document and implement test process
Sample inventory management
Documentation and data maintenance
Perform field inspection, testing and sampling as needed
Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites
Qualification
Required
10 years of concrete, soil, asphalt concrete, other construction materials and/or laboratory testing experience and mix design processes
Basic computer skills
Understanding of basic math and physics concepts including Algebra
Ability to work variable hours
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Excellent organizational skills
Valid California driver's license
High school diploma or equivalent
