Tool Room Mold Technician
Stryten Energy manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products and is expanding its manufacturing and recycling output. The Mold Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of injection mold tooling and related equipment to ensure efficient production flow.

Responsibilities
Perform various duties relating to maintenance and upkeep of tooling and related plastic injection molding equipment
Moves injection molds around the facility as required by the toolroom and production departments
Disassembly of injection molds, cleaning, changeover of components, and reassembly of the mold when completed
Electrical checks of mold heaters and thermocouples
Water pressure checks for of molding circuits
Troubleshoot tooling issues in the production area and in the tooling room, recommend and implement solutions to fix problems
Operate necessary equipment including manual lathes, mills, surface grinders drill presses, hand tools, and other associated equipment to repair existing and fabricate new components
Ability to effectively manage time and meet specified deadlines, and work with a sense of urgency when presses or lines are down
Follow all company safety policies and procedures including the use of PPE and safety equipment
Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and other lean manufacturing initiatives
Continuously improve the general housekeeping, organization of equipment, tools, and supplies to keep workstations as efficient as possible
Good communication with process engineering to work on improving molding through tooling improvements and processing; diagnose/troubleshoot and help/implement corrections to tooling problems with other facilities
Must complete all required hazardous waste training and comply with all Stryten hazardous waste and handling procedures
Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed/required basis in order to complete work in process and communicate with other shifts
Work within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations
Attend all required trainings and meetings
Must embrace and follow the Core Beliefs and Values of Stryten Energy
Embraces and follows the work and safety rules and wears all required personal protective equipment

Qualification
Required

Must complete a Lock Out/Tag Out training program
Proven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained. Attendance is critical to this position
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent standing, bending, reaching
Preferred
High School Diploma or G.E.D, preferred but not required
Apprenticeship Training certificate (preferred but not required)
Manual Machinist skills: Lathe, Bridgeport mill, Surface grinder and typical manual toolroom machinery operation skills strongly preferred
Injection mold tooling experience preferred but not required
Understanding of machining principles and practices is strongly preferred
Fundamental understanding of injection molding
Thorough understanding of mold construction and mold maintenance principles a plus
Must demonstrate a high level of mechanical aptitude
Welding; TIG and MIG experience a plus
Good communication and documentation skills with the ability to work well with others
