Mid LevelNebraska Society of CPAs is seeking a Staff Accountant to support their accounting department. The role involves preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports, as well as facilitating monthly close procedures and assisting with audits.
Accounting
Responsibilities
Facilitates and completes monthly close procedures
Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Reconciles cash accounts, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other accounts as assigned
Identifies, researches, and explains account fluctuations within the income statement and balance sheet to management
Reviews vendor invoices to verify the accuracy of relevant information, identify errors, correct errors, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders
Analyzes the performance and profitability of various customers and relay these results to management on a monthly basis
Assists with external financial audit and tax audits as needed
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. at times
Preferred
Internship or professional accounting experience is desirable
