Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day interface with Program Manager, program engineering leads, suppliers and the Customer
Responsible for all technical performance and risk reduction activities for the weapon system development effort from Conops and system trades to requirements and compliance, implementation, integration, and verification, including transition to production and design upgrades required for intended applications
Lead a team of engineers of multiple disciplines to provide technical excellence and mission success
Communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the customer
Coordinate or manage subcontractors and subcontract technical management
Lead to achieve successful demonstration of program development milestones such as Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), system integration and test, and Functional Configuration Audit (FCA)
Build relationships with team members, direct reports, and stakeholders

Required

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering activities in support of missile and/or sensor programs
Experience required includes DoD tactical system development program experience
Customer interface
Requirements derivation/allocation
Integration and test planning and execution
Management of major subcontracts
Understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and their application
Participation in major design reviews
Experience in missile and/or sensor design, development, and testing
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience coordinating or managing subcontractors and subcontract technical management
Excellent leadership skills in previous assignments
Building relationships with team members, direct reports, and stakeholders
Significant travel may be required

Preferred

Experience leading a team to achieve successful demonstration of program development milestones such as Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), system integration and test, and Functional Configuration Audit (FCA)
Familiarity with formal decision analysis methods
Experience using IBM DOORS and Cameo or similar for system requirements and Architecture
Knowledge of the following technologies is desired: Modeling & Simulation, GPS, Processor or FPGA design, aeronautics, GNC, data links, warheads, software implementation, and program protection
Experience with Agile process and tools, such as JIRA or similar
Experience with the entire program lifecycle from technology demonstrations to transition to production
