TKDA is seeking an undergraduate intern for their 2026 Summer Internship Program in Structural Engineering, specifically focused on bridge design. The intern will work alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians, applying academic knowledge to assist with various bridge design projects and the production of final plans and specifications.

Assist with highway bridge design, railroad bridge design, pedestrian bridge design and retaining wall design, and production of final plans, specifications, and cost estimates

Required

Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with interest in bridges

Previous experience or formal training with Microstation, MathCAD, STAAD or Geopak

Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a team environment

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred

Previous coursework or project assignments related to structural or bridge design

Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices

Previous experience developing construction plans and specifications
