The Vice President, Strategy and Growth is responsible for setting and driving strategic priorities and operational alignment across the hospital, focusing on market analysis, service line optimization, and performance governance.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute the strategic plan for the campus, ensuring deep alignment with the system's overarching mission, financial goals, and capital planning
Conduct rigorous market, financial, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps within key service lines (e.g., Cardiology, Orthopedics, Oncology). Develop specific strategies for growing, optimizing, or sunsetting campus service line programs
Partner with the Hospital President and campus leadership to integrate strategic initiatives into daily operations, focusing on patient access, capacity management, and efficiency
Establish a formal prioritization and governance process for all campus strategic projects, ensuring resources are allocated against the highest-ROI initiatives. Maintain a strategic dashboard to track progress against key campus metrics
Continuously monitor the local competitive landscape, payer dynamics, regulatory changes, and population health needs relevant to the campus market. Synthesize intelligence into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership
Lead the development of comprehensive business cases, financial models, and feasibility studies for all significant campus investments, clinical program expansions, and technology investments, ensuring a strong, measurable ROI
Serve as the strategic validator and internal 'customer' for the system-wide Business Development team. Inform their outreach efforts by providing insight on referral patterns, physician needs, and high-priority geographic expansion targets for the campus
In partnership with Medical Group leadership, develop strategies to optimize physician alignment, retention, and integration—including clinical employment, co-management, joint operating agreements, and new care model implementation
Identify and evaluate emerging clinical and operational technologies that will enhance the campus’s performance, patient experience, or cost structure. Lead growth programs and champion their adoption
Drive strategy creation and execution across clinical, finance, and operational teams. Serve as the primary strategic thought partner to the Hospital President and campus governing boards
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic planning, healthcare consulting, corporate development, or finance within a complex health system or academic medical center
Preferred
Master's degree (MBA or MHA) preferred
